24/7 Emergency Dispatch

Emergency Hydrovac in Toronto and the GTA, 24/7

A watermain break, a struck gas line or a washout under a live road does not wait for business hours. AMG Hydrovac dispatches out of the Greater Toronto Area, and the 24/7 line is answered by the owner, so you get a straight answer from someone with the authority to commit. Utilities, municipalities, contractors with a strike, plumbers and property managers call when something is broken underground and they want a straight answer on timing.

What We Respond To

Anything where the ground has to come open now, around something live, without making it worse. Hydrovac moves soil with water and vacuum, so there is no bucket to catch a second service while you chase the first.

  • Watermain breaks: expose the main or service for the repair crew and vacuum out saturated spoil and standing water as we go
  • Struck or exposed utilities: clear around a damaged gas, hydro, telecom or water line so the utility can assess and repair it
  • Spills: open up around a leaking line or tank so it can be isolated and repaired, and vacuum the impacted soil and liquid into the debris tank; disposal of contaminated material is scoped with you on the call
  • Washouts and sinkholes: find the void, expose what is left of the pipe and clear the area so it can be backfilled properly

Who Answers, and What the ETA Means

The dispatch line is answered around the clock by Tamim, the owner. He dispatches the work, so he knows where the nearest truck is and how long its current job has left. That is where the ETA comes from.

Response is usually the same day, often within a few hours depending on where the nearest truck is. If the nearest truck is at the far end of the service area, you hear that straight away, so you can decide whether to wait or call someone closer. We would rather lose the call than give you a number we cannot keep.

What to Tell Dispatch

The more of this you have ready when you call, the faster the truck leaves and the fewer surprises on arrival.

  • The address, nearest cross street, and which side of the road or part of the property the dig is on
  • What is in the ground: the service that broke or was struck, what else is nearby, and whether you have an Ontario One Call ticket or locate marks
  • Access: where a tri-drive truck can park, overhead wires or low clearance, soft ground or standing water, and the distance from that spot to the dig
  • Who is on site: your foreman or the utility rep, their mobile number, and whether the service is isolated or still live

Working Safely Around Live Services

An emergency is where non-destructive digging earns its keep. Water and vacuum expose the damaged line without a tooth or bucket touching the services beside it, which matters most when nobody yet knows what else is in the trench.

Locates still matter at 2 a.m. Ontario One Call has an emergency locate process, and we confirm what has been requested and marked before we cut; private locates can be arranged. The operator is Book 7 trained for work inside your lane closure, confined space trained for chamber and valve-pit work, and holds First Aid/CPR.

Before we leave you get the same photo-and-depth record we hand over on a scheduled dig, so the repair crew and whoever reviews the incident know what was exposed, how deep and in what condition.

The Truck, and What After-Hours Costs

Per unit: a Tornado F3C tri-drive hydrovac with a 9 m³ (12 cu yd) debris tank, 6,000 L (1,585 US gal) of fresh water, heated water for frozen ground, and remote hose up to 90 m (300 ft) when the break is somewhere the truck cannot park.

Nights, weekends and holidays are quoted on the call, before we commit the truck: hourly rate, minimum per dispatch, mobilization and disposal, no fuel surcharge. Contractors, utilities and municipalities get account pricing on a PO or approved account, with a certificate of insurance and WSIB clearance for your file.

24/7 Emergency Hydrovac, Answered

Usually the same day, often within a few hours depending on where the nearest truck is. Call dispatch and the owner gives you a real ETA before you commit.

Get everyone clear and call the utility's emergency line first. Once their crew gives the go-ahead, we expose the damaged section and clear around it so they can repair it; tell dispatch whether the line is isolated.

Remote hose reaches up to 90 m (300 ft) from the truck for backyards, easements and anywhere past a closure the truck cannot enter. Give dispatch the distance.

Yes. Homeowners, plumbers and property managers get the same up-front quote: tell dispatch what needs digging and where, and you have a price before the truck rolls.
